I completed my Honours degree through the University of the Free State in 2013 with Psychology, Criminology, and Sociology as main elective subjects. I am registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) and a member of the Western Cape Association for Play Therapy.
During 2014-2017 I practiced Statutory Social Work focussing on the best interest of the child and implementing legislation and regulations set out in the Children’s Act 38 of 2005. During 2017-2021 I was a resident Social Worker at a Child and Youth Care Centre. I was responsible for the overall wellbeing, design, and execution of Individual Developmental Plans of Children, aged 3 months to 21 years.
I believe that I have developed special skills and an interest to work with youth and adolescents who experience challenges in their overall development and have maladaptive behaviours.
